Langley Cemetery
To reach the Langley Cemetery from downtown Langley, go south on Anthes Street to 6th Street.
Turn right on 6th Street and in about 1/2 block turn left on Al Anderson Avenue. The cemetery is
located on the left about 3/4 mile up this road.
This is the oldest cemetery on South Whidbey Island. It was begun in 1902 by the Woodmen’s
Lodge and operated by them until 1913 when it was deeded to the town of Langley which has
operated it since.
We are indebted to the Sno-Isle Genealogical Society and their publication “The
Sounder” for publishing a list of individuals buried in this cemetery, copied from the
Hedgecock-Visser Funeral Home records about 1987. Our thanks go also to Rick Hill and the City
of Langley for providing us with their list of burials in the cemetery. We have merged these two
lists to give us a guide and starting point, verified names and dates, made corrections as
necessary, and added more recent burials.
