GSSWI Seminar - April 27th, 2013The Genealogical Society of South Whidbey Island will host its 2013 Seminar at the Useless Bay Country Club on April 27th 2013. The seminar speaker will be Karen Krugman whose background is given below. The seminar brochure and the seminar

1990, and professionally since 1998. She enjoys the
challenge of Lineage Society research. Since 2002
she has been speaking to genealogy groups in the
metro Detroit area as well as other areas of
Michigan & Ohio. Her talks are given with a
humorous spin that is unique to her. Societies she
has held positions in include: research chair for
the Detroit Society for Genealogical research, past
Registrar of the Michigan UDC chapter, past
president of the Ford Genealogy Club, a member
of the Oakland County Genealogy Society and a
six year volunteer at the Library of Michigan.
Karen has written five books based on her family history research and was co-author of The Ford Family Cemetery book, which includes photos and other information on the cemetery where auto pioneer Henry Ford is buried. Currently Karen resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Karen is a specialist in MI and OH genealogy. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the seminar concludes at 4:30 p.m. Registration cost for the entire day is $50.00 (U.S.), and includes the four sessions, morning snack, delicious luncheon, afternoon soft drinks and cookies and coffee/tea/water all day in a comfortable and beautiful setting. Pre-registration, using the downloadable form is strongly recommended. The Useless Bay Country Club is located at: 5725 South Country Club Drive Driving to the Useless Bay Country Club Northbound: from Clinton: Continue on Highway 525 from the ferry landing through 3 stoplights. After passing the third stoplight at Bayview Rd., go 1.2 miles, watching for the Eye Vision Center on your left. Turn left on Useless Bay Rd. and continue approximately 100 yards to the entrance on Country Club Dr. on your left. Southbound: Cross Deception Pass Bridge onto Whidbey Island. Follow Highway 20 to Freeland (Highway 20 becomes 525 at Race Rd.), go 2.1 miles past the stoplight at Main/Fish Rd. in Freeland, turn right on Useless Bay Rd. (landmark on right prior to turn is Eagle’s Hall). Continue approximately 100 yards to the entrance of Country Club Dr. on your left. |
